  1. God Gave Me a Rose
Today God gave me a Rose.
The day was sunny and bright.
But my soul was full of doubt and deep despair.
Tears brimmed my eyes as I searched for a place to be alone.
As I journeyed, I kept asking not “Why?’, but “Please,.. help.”
I noticed among the conceit, noise, the rush and push something out of place.

There on the ledge seemingly all alone was a single dark red rose.
At first, I almost passed it. After all, it was not perfect.
But then, I thought, why not give my wringing hands something to hold?
So, I quickly picked up the rose, hoping no one would see.
The rose was the largest I had ever seen and more than filled my hand!
It was soft, delicate and as fragile as my life felt at that very moment.

I continued to walk and as I did, I studied this beautiful creation cradled in my hands.
I realized the rose had no stem, but it also had no thorns.
The edges were quite frail, but the inter petals were still fresh, full of fragrance!
Then, I looked to Heaven thankful, because I knew God had more than heard my prayer.
Somewhere, somehow, He had already answered it.
Today God gave me a Rose.
